nuees ardentes is awesome

last night after seeing two pretty crappy bands and one decent one at end of the line, i hopped over to sluggo's to see some bands there. the first one that played was nebella. they were really good. they're really mellow. kinda similar to the cranberries. the band that played after them, nuees ardentes, was so dang great. they kinda reminded me of come the fall actually. the drummer was crazy good. during the first song he had a pretty lengthy solo, in which he broke 3 sticks and had to drum w/ his hand a couple times due to a lack of easily accessable back up sticks. he was so freaking awesome that even when he drummed w/ one stick for the symbol and one hand, it sounded so good. i found out that they're playing at eotl on feb 12. i will make sure that my little brother is right up front so he can see this guy and his massive skills. the drummer also doubled as the screamer. when they first started playing me and my friend elizabeth had to back way up b/c the four feet of room between us and the guitarist wasn't enough rome fo him to thrash around. even though there's a stage, they played down on the floor. i wish i could have stayed to see the third band play, but steph got a call from the cops sayong that the alarm went off at cfa. everything was ok at the store though. i had my orientation at lonestar today. the manager seems really nice. my first day is monday from 5-9. i'm excited. i realized that i know one of the servers there from tate. that's cool b/c we had a lot of the same friends. i'm also very pleased because i'm going to be able to wear converse, and my uniform is just jeans and a lonestar t-shirt. kinda sucks that it says texas pride all over it, but i think i can get over that. he says that it's not necessary, but it would be nice if the tennis shoes are a solid color, so i guess i'm gonna get white. i thought about the all black ones, but i'm not so sure what i think about those. man, i can't wait till feb 12th now.
