(no subject)
Yesterday while driving to the beach I got a phone call from Loehmann's asking me if I was still interested in the job. I told them I was, and I started today. I worked from 10-6. Sadly, this is my first real job. Others were temporary or off the books. Instead of training me and having me work on the floor and in the back and everything, they put me right onto register to do purchases, returns, exchanges, discounts ..store credit.. coupons..all this crap! I have never used a register before, and I don't have a credit card yet so I don't know anything about that shit. Anyways, I looked like a dumbass for a few minutes but it's actually really easy. I really like the people I'm working with. They seem really cool. Some are young, and some are old, but I like pretty much all of them. It is really funny dealing with customers. I've only been there one day... and the things that some people will tell you while you're ringing them up....
It's kind of cool, I got my own locker and my own code account thing for the register. I tried to look like I knew what I was doing but all that resulted in was having people ask me alot of questions that I didn't know the answer to. I also let some lady return underwear because I wasn't paying attention and then the girl working next to me said that she doesn't think you're allowed to do that. So we laughed, and I hid them in a box.
Oh man. At first they made me read tons of shit and take a few tests. Very boring. Then I had to watch SIX videos, and answer questions on them. All in all it was really good. I work with a woman named Vicki who is absolutely insane. It's hilarious though. She and the others are really friendly and I had a good time. I get eiher a 30 minute or 1 hour break.... which today I used to talk on the phone and answer text messages? I will be working I THINK 3 or 4 days a week. From 11-5, I believe. My feet are killing me right now. I wore my tiny tiny heels, but they were right...standing up all day is obnoxious no matter what the fuck you're wearing on your feet. I am starving now, so I'm going to see what food we have here. Then later I'll just be hanging around, maybe going out. Fuck rehearsal....No way. Too tired.
