Shmoo messaged me from work. He said I had a box, and it was big and ugly.
I asked where it was from, and when he said North Carolina, I squealed.
My wheel had arrived. I cannot express my excitement. I was ready for him to come home right then! Luckily it was pretty late in the day and he would be coming home soon.
So he brought in a box that looked like this:
And then I opened it and assembled all the bits and it looked like this:
And then I did some spinning on it and it looks like this:
AND!
The nice guy I ordered the wheel from sent me a pound of fiber as well. And it’s this yummy chocolate brown. I have no idea what the details are on the fiber, I have to send off an email to ask him.
Since there is not a lot of information out on the intarwebs about the Kromski Sonata, because it’s so new to the market, I’ll go ahead and give my first impression of him. (Yes him, I have always known my wheel would be a fella.) I LOVE HIM. He’s got wonderful details and is great combination of utility and craftsmanship. He spins like a dream and I can’t wait to see what we make together.
The only thing left is to name him. I was thinking Rupert, or Bernard (pronounce it “burn-erd”, because I will), and as they are both Polish names, that would be lovely. Rupert or Bernard Kromski. However, shmoo thinks I should name him Ferris, (last name, Wheel). Yes folks, Ferris Wheel. He did make me giggle with that suggestion. Admittedly I was giddy with new wheel excitement, but it is funny. Feel free to suggest names yourself, just know that they need to be male to be considered.
