Poooor Beck!!
This is just BULLSHIT.
As a preface, Beck works at a group home for adults with mental health issues. I think there's like 3 or 4 guys who live there. So Beck's shift yesterday was 3-11. She called us at like 10 or so letting us know not to worry about her, someone called out and she had to work a double. That sucks, because it's supposed to be an awake overnight... which is fine if that's your shift and you're used to it, but not otherwise. We were kind of relieved though, because Beck's not good at driving in the snow. We figured she'd be better off staying at work.
So about a half hour ago their mom called us, asking if we'd be willing to drive to Clinton to Beck's work and pick her up, and one of us drive her car back. She said that not only are the roads supposed to be bad, but Becks' less than coherent and has been up for 24 hours. We said fine, and call Beck at work. Apparently there was a misunderstanding between she and her mom, because Beck was NOT allowed to leave yet... they want her to work until 3!! She's already worked for 16 hours, now they want her to work for 24??? That is ridiculous! Mike is ALL fired up, he's really mad and is trying to help come up with a plan to help Beck, telling her to ask the person coming in at 3 to come in at 1, so she can leave. (The person who just came in leaves at 2 or something, i don't know the whole story.) Her supervisor doesn't seem to care, and said that she knows that Beck needs to leave but there's nothing she can do about it. How about getting off your ass and coming in? We are NOT impressed. We told Beck to go over her sup's head at this point, but THAT person Beck has had trouble with in the past, so it's kind of a weird situation.
So we'll see. Poor Beck. I feel so bad, they really abuse her there. Gawd.
