School has started again. Boo. I only had one class today(since my Geog class was canceled, so my homies and I went to sweat it off at the IMA. It is a really nice gym once you get the hang of it. Now I have blisters on my heels though, due to the curse of the skinny heel which has haunted my family for generations. Anyway, now I feel quite contented to walk up the ave, study at the cafe, and have a nice, big, satisfying pho for dinner. Yum! Could anything be better?
My supposed roomate still hasn't moved in, which confuses me, but hey! More room for me, you know? I'm having some of the best sleep lately and I think it's due to a combination between my glorious new mattress pad and being solitary in my room. I loved my roomate, it's just that I could never relax completely with her in the room. This would have happened if there was anyone dorming with me, I'm just that type of person.
Class impressions thus far:
German 102: I love learning languages, I just wish I could absorb them more sometimes. I feel a bit slow, but I have a couple of friends in the class and the temporary professor is quite nice. We're supposedly getting a new curly, crimson-haired professor next week named Mirjam. Lots of material to keep track of though not so heavy on the online stuff. We have moodle, Qia, a workbook, a textbook and a CD to deal with and homework is every night. Hopefully this will keep me on my toes.
Geography 271: This class, titled "Geography of Food and Eating" is not really about 'who eats what where', as the professor put it, but about more abstract things. There's a lot of reading!!
Art 166: This class is quite intimidating. Oooh. We have a project that deals with photography due in a month, and I hate and suck at photography. I also have to get more art supplies. blah. It should be fun despite its rigorousness and harsh atmosphere. I always have wanted to be a designer, so maybe my talents will get their chance to shine through the adversity of the course.
.......
Anyway, as I continue on my backward track, I think i'll delve into last weekend. It was wild and crazy Canadian fun; mostly a giant shopping extravaganza in which I accumulated an entire wardrobe for spring. I really like "tna". They make great trendy sweatshirts. Liz, Rita, Dah and I went out on the town(a few blocks from our hotel actually), and partied(ate at a thai restaurant and shared two cocktails)! It was wild.
bye for now! I more freaking homework to complete...
