Perfection, seriously. I love this so, so, SO much; thank you for taking my fic and added so much depth and nuance and beauty and tragedy -- WOW! I'm seriously blown away by where you take this -- I love the focus on Eloise and Richard, and I love that you picked up on a different sort of dynamic between them, because I pretty much always write Eloise and Richard with that something there -- and how much you fleshed this out beyond anything I ever did.
And it's just so gorgeous, like stunningly so. The image of Daniel running away, sitting under a tree, of Charles teaching Daniel how to hunt, of Eloise weeping, of Charles promising to burn the island down (and I looooved that callback; I still hope some of his motivations in present canon have something to do with losing his son), of Richard and Eloise's goodbye and that final scene with Eloise and Daniel and i hope not. Ack, I am broken-hearted, but in the absolute best way possible ( ... )

I do that too. As much as I love Charles/Eloise, there's something about the dynamic between Richard and Eloise that just intrigues me. The Incident left me with a lot of question marks regarding those two.
But I digress...I'm really pleased you enjoyed this! And thank you so much for the feedback!

What a gorgeous fic! I love your style. It's almost simplistic (in the best way possible I assure you) but at the same time it packs a punch. You don't mince words, nothing about this is wordy but every word, each and every single one is perfect and creates this almost mythic story. I honestly can't believe that this fic was less than 2000 words... it all felt so very, very epic in my mind.
I LOVED this - especially your Eloise and Richard characterizations and young Daniel *heartbreaks* Just stunning, absolutely stunning.
