Oh wow, I love this so much!

She went through phases - goth, preppy, hobo-chic, artistic.

This! And this:

Jack learns about his sister through hearsay. Interviews with old friends, public records and anything else he can get his hands on. (obsession they would call this - a substitute for other vices.)

I love stories that examine the impact finding out Jack and Claire are related have on the characters. I love all that this says about the two of them.
