This is good. I like the structure, and I like the way that you've portrayed both Richard and Jacob. I wish we'd got to see more of them together in the show.

Interesting take on Richard's origins, as well. Believable too, I think, given his at times oddly submissive nature.

Oh this is stunning! The language is absolutely gorgeous and I love the history you give Richard here. All of the little details add so much to the story-Latin falling out of fashion, meeting Eloise, and the I love you towards the end. It's sad and tragic and lovely all at once. I especially like the idea that Richard's immortality was an accident.

You have a way of capturing a few seconds or minutes that's...
well I can't really put it into words, but it's very efficient and poetic without trying at all

Do you ever write Ben/Richard?

Oh my god. This is... this is one of my new favorite Lost fics of all time. Gorgeous! I adore Richard/Jacob, and not only did this do them perfect justice, but you also posited all these wonderful little ideas that I absolutely LOVE, like Jacob being out of practice at healing, at the immportality coming as a surprise, that Jacob had been looking out for Alex by wanting her killed as a baby, that Richard had been a slave. It all feels so right. This is like my new personal canon. And the way you tell it is so chilling and dreamy and beautiful while still being just a little bit creepy. The management of time is also perfect, gliding along over a long period.

He doesn't say 'our' because his burden is not one he wants to trouble Richard with.
WAH! Gorgeous.
