I swear, this picspam was put together exclusively because I have found myself confused, on more than one occasion, by the nature on Cara and Triana's relationship and not because the sight of Cara being all Mord'Sith-y makes me happy in my pants I wish to distract the fandom from the more pressing matter such as squeeing over how adorable Bridget Regan was on AOTS.
Anyway.
Also, after reading
dreiser 's
story, I've decided I should dig around this for a while.
And here it goes.
In 1x22 Reckoning, we have an AU in which Kahlan is Darken Rahl's wife and queen, and Richard gets propelled into the future with Cara where she then proceedes to convine him how being the little spoon is not all that bad, among other things that happen, the two of them walk into a Mord'Sith temple left in ruins. There Cara realizes all her sisters have been slaughtered, among them Triana, whose remains Cara recognises and then has ~feelings.
Then, in 2x01 Marked, we see Cara having a three-way a bath while Triana is alive (yay!), but they don't seem to be very friendly with each other. Triana is all, You're having three-ways luxurious baths while D'Hara is in chaos! That's not very Mord'Sith-y of you! She then Agiels the water and Cara gets that twitch we so grew to love.
Do I need to remind all of you how awesome Cara showing Triana just how motherfucking Mord'Sith-y she really is looks like? Well, I just happen to have it here.
Yes, and Triana gets the message and is all, Mistress, what else can I do to please you?
Cara has a few ideas, of course. One of which is indulging herself in some Mord'Sex. She explains it to Triana without explaining and, curiously enough, Triana, once again, gets the message.
Somehow, I do not get a feeling that she's being all YAY! SEXY!TIEM WITH CARA like I would be.
See?
So, what I'm curious about is this: seeing how clearly shaken Cara was at the sight of Triana's remains, it puzzles me, this whole I'll make you my bitch thing the two of them have in Marked. Has anyone thought about it? What do you think is the reason for it? Do you think that, maybe, Cara was simply shaken by the sight of her dead sisters and that's why she was on the verge of tears (in which case, why single out Triana?) or is it because the thought of Triana's death in particular has made her sad (in which case, why make them rivals in Marked)? Were they lovers? Were they lovers, but something happened between Reckoning and Marked (the fact that Cara aided Richard in killing Darken Rahl?) that made them not like each other very much anymore? Where's Dahlia in all this? Or have writers/director just made an oopsie by making Cara have the reaction to Triana's death the way she had? Or perhaps I'm just a fangirl who needs to simply get a life?
I'm genuenly interested in your oppinions.
