KNOW YOUR RIGHTS-THEY ALMOST DIDN'T ALLOW ME TO VOTE!!!

Hey all,

Hope everyone is having a wonderful election day regardless whether we have the same political views or not...

We got up at 530 to vote right at 630a.
At Stetson Square in Corryville/Clifton...There were two college guys in front of Steve and I,
when their addresses on their IDs did not match what was in the book, a poll worker told him to go home and get a bill with that address on it or he would not be allowed to vote.
He said he did not have it and were about to walk out. I told him to wait and talk to the other poll worker because after hearing his situation I realized I soon would be in the same boat.

She gave me the same talk. I told her she was incorrect. She got quite indignant when I said, "Ma'am, we voted in the primary at the BOE with these IDs and this address. We were assured then that we did not have to get new IDs OR bring a utility bill." She said I was incorrect. I then (politely but stern) asked her to show me that in writing. It was then that another poll worker stepped in and allowed us to vote.

I hope none of you have a similar experience but review the BOE's website and know your rights, if you won't stick up for them...who will??

Cassie
