The
9th International Design Festival is here in Sydney at the Powerhouse Museum from
6-21 August (that last link will open in a new window and give you a calendar, so pick a day and find out what's on!).
One of the events I recommend going to is the
Young Blood: Designers Market on 13 August from 8.00am - 5.00pm, where you can check out the original designs of some top young designers, and where you'll also have "...the opportunity to meet the makers and talk about their work." Woohoo! Not that I'll be doing much talking. Probably more snuffling and petting of the products.
If you can make it and are interested, you also might want to check out
Would Sydney take a Guggenheim to it's heart? on 17 August 6.00pm. Bookings are essential, and it costs AU$50 or $35 for concessions & members. Check out the website for information on this event and how to book.
