Phew. Done. This final chapter is almost certainly full of mistakes, absolutely definitely full of angst and may not make sense, but, you know, DONE. YAY.
I think the whole fic clocks in at around 80,000 words all told. Never again. Seriously. Not ever doing this again.
Chapters 1-28:

From the build up of their differences but they didnt want to talk about it because of their mutual love. And the beginning of how they met and fall in love, Charles's manifestation, Erik's angst, their compromise, how much further both Erik and Charles have come to. And Jesus Christ the wiki page sdjgsl breaks my heart (this line: "Sir, if your wife was a terrorist I imagine you'd still be upset she could never come home."skjdghsldg)
Will you be writing time fics and turn this into a series? Or continue from the "Strykergate incident"?? Please do sdjfsd or more cherik fics to come??
Ugh this fic is just brilliant okay. I have reread it before (between the times of waiting for your updates) and it will definitely be on my reread list, although I will probably avoid the ending ;_; their uncertain future, too sad. Please do continue writing! :) And trust me to pour all my feels of this again when I reread in the future. ;_;

I'm glad the ending worked for you, I was kind of worried that it would be... not an ending at all, really. Very grateful to Tawabids for doing the hard work for me! And yeah, that line. OH CHARLES NO MY POOR BABY.
Hmm... honestly, I don't think I could do Strykergate justice, so I doubt I'll write any more in this verse... though there is 30,000 words of co-written bizarre AU hiding in the world's longest comments thread on one of the chapters, where the boys are transported into the XMFC universe and meet their counterparts. Fun to write but NOT canonical in the Late Bloomer universe.
I'm so glad you liked and reread this! And I hope very much to write more in the fandom though (as you may have realised from the time it took me to finish this) I am rather slow.
