Bunnies

These are things I want to write.

1. Ray fell in love with his best friend's dorky little brother in college when he wore glasses that were too big for his face and perched precariously on the tip of his nose (thank you, LotMS). They became best friends with benefits before My Chem was born.

Over the next ten years, the band matures, and so does Mikey. He uses his newfound wealth to have laser eye surgery and as the band's image changes, Mikey changes along with it. His hairstyle gets more and more sophisticated and trendy, just like the look on Mikey's face.

Now Mikey's aloof and cool, when before he was a shy kid with awful but endearing hair who laughed all the time. It seems like now Mikey only goes through the motions of interviews and everything else, and Ray feels like he's lost his best friend. Things get tense with them until one day Ray reveals his feelings (or he tells Frank or Gerard who then tells Mikey).

A few days later, Mikey whips out a pair of non-prescription glasses that look a lot like his old ones, and puts them on for Ray, and takes Ray's hands in his. He points out that over time, *everyone* changes, but he hadn't meant to become aloof and distant. He tells Ray that he's still the same comic-loving dork he always was, and that he'll make an effort to lighten up and let people see the real him instead of the flat mask he's perfected over the years.

There's a happy ending, of course, and it involves sex and cuddling.

2. Killjoy AU, inspired by the episode of Twilight Zone entitled Arcadia. In this episode, Amber Tamblynn's parents are worried about her being rebellious, so they move to this town where all the houses look the same and everyone has white picket fences and all the kids are perfectly behaved. All of Amber's tattoos are removed and she's expected to assimilate to this perfect community.

Amber meets another formerly rebellious kid and they rebel together, sneaking out to smoke cigarettes and make mischief. While they're doing this, they see another rebel (or maybe it's Amber's friend) get caught by the town's G-men and thrown into the back of a truck that says something to do with mulch. Eventually Amber and her friend get caught and they get a warning. Amber's sister is really worried about her, and they fight, and Amber goes off and does more rebellious things.

Amber gets caught again, and this time, they take her away in the mulch truck. There has been talk of how the bad are recycled to make something good, with camera shots toward new trees surrounded by mulch in front of the perfect homes. The next morning, Amber's parents plant a new tree, surrounding it with mulch.

My idea is to do this with the Killjoys, except with Power Pup instead of mulch. I would want Frank to be the rebellious teen, because he's got all those personal tattoos that they could remove, resulting in much angst. I could AU it where Mikey is Frank's concerned, well behaved little brother who's worried about him, and Gerard could be the other rebel Frank makes mischief with. I'm not sure where Ray would fit into all of this. Maybe he can be the boyfriend that Frank left behind when his family up and moved him into Perfect Town.

3. Killjoy AU crossed over with Doctor Who in which they go to Battery City and discover that the City is using the Inner Internet to control and influence people's thoughts and behaviors. It's a play on the Cybermen episodes.

4. Killjoy AU inspired by the movie Serenity. In Serenity (a movie in which the title character is a spaceship), there are evil creatures called Reavers. For a long time it's speculated about whether the Reavers are really men or not; their bodies are all violently ravaged and sewn together strangely with the occasional piece of wire sewn in and so on. The Reavers are said to be violent ravagers, attacking anyone they come into contact with, raping them to death and then wearing their victims' flesh as clothing. And if you're lucky, they do it in that order.

On Serenity, there's a girl named River who has been tortured and reprogrammed by the government. During the course of the movie, we find out that River responds to a certain word, and that she knows a State secret that they want to keep her from sharing with the universe.

River's mad ramblings lead the crew of Serenity to a planet guarded by hordes of Reavers. After the deaths of some of their friends, the crew of Serenity decides to disguise their ship in order to get through the horde of Reavers. To do this, they display the bodies of their fallen friends on their ship, and cover it in blood.

They successfully make it to the planet, where everything is oddly quiet. They go to the city, where everyone has died. They weren't murdered and they didn't die of old age; they appear to have just stopped whatever they were doing, and sat still until they died.

They find a hologram that explains what happened. The government piped a chemical into the air in the hopes of calming the citizens, so that there wouldn't be crime or violence or any of that. 90% of the population calmed down, all right; calmed down so much that they eventually stopped doing anything and just waited until they died.

10% of the population had the opposite reaction. Instead of becoming calmer, they became violent and raging; they tore up their skin and started attacking any survivors they came across. They became Reavers: a product of the governments attempts to calm their citizens. This turns out to be the State secret that the government wanted River to keep to herself.

My idea is to do this plot (government tries to make people pliable, which ends up backfiring) with the Killjoys, except instead of a chemical in the air, it's pills, and instead of Reavers, it's Dracs. The Killjoys, most of the rebels, and the government are the only ones who aren't victims of the drugs, because they don't take them. I don't know if I want there to be a character analogous to River, or if I just want them to go to Battery City one day and discover that everyone is dead.

Well, not Battery City; like any good scientists, Battery City would have tested the drugs in an isolated community, probably in the desert. Here's where having a River would be useful, because she leads them to the community and is also targeted by the government to keep her secret. It could explain why Korse is after Rain (which is what I call Grace, and also fits in with the nature-type name of River).
