The Wintersmith, by Terry Pratchett

From BEA, Pizza brought me an advanced copy of Pratchett's latest in the Tiffany Aching/Wee Free Men series. While I enjoyed it, it was not my favorite in the series. It was a bit long, and I felt as if it couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a character-development piece or purely plot-driven.

Tiffany is a great role model for girls (she's strong, independent, and very smart), but my favorite little blue men do not play as big a role. Fortunately, Rob Anybody does have a nice little vignette at the end.

I'm currently reading Myla Goldberg's Bee Season and loving it.
