(no subject)
Things are continously pleasant, and I'm starting to wonder when the catch will come. Theres no other way to describe how I feel other than incredibly content. I woke up to perfect weather this morning after some much needed sleep, and my roommates and I all exchanged our presents early (one of them is leaving this afternoon for the break). Things are much better with Kristyn after we had a talk, and things with Allie were never bad. I got a bunch of bath stuff and a new Bradbury book to read, which is absolutely perfect.
Speaking of books, I'm going to a book exchanging Christmas party on Wednesday and I cannot wait. I can't wait to see everyone, because its been far too long. Nick Lamberth is probably one of my favorite people ever, as are almost all of Rachel's friends. Being around her and everyone always reminds me of what genuine people are like.
The "Dirty" Christmas party is on Tuesday, where I have to bring a dirty gift. I don't exactly know what I'm getting yet, but I want it to be fun and creative. I get to wear two dresses in two days, which is awesome. Its been way too long since I've been able to wear my little black dress haha.
I bought and made most of my Christmas presents yesterday. My CD burner is fixed and I made probably my best ever mix CD to date. I'm pretty damn proud of it and I can't wait to give it away. I'm also super excited because I can't believe how close the Boston trip is. After that is the New Years sleepover and after that I have January 5th to look forward to. This might have been the best semester yet when it comes to my attitude and happiness (though not my best academically, because it was really challenging). I didn't do horrible, but I set some pretty high standards for myself sometimes. I stuck to my new years resolution almost flawlessly this year, except for one of two slip ups that weren't too bad. I think thats one of my biggest achievements.
This year I:
- started the year off with a phone call with bad news and a really intense moment at midnight
- took 2 classes with Dr. Coverston (and guaranteed not to be the last)
- worked at a dog daycare for two weeks and would never go back lol
- went to a lot of 21st birthdays
- travelled a whole lot. Went to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Tampa, Gainesville, and Savannah
- read amazing books like Lakota Woman, Pride, The Martian Chronicles, etc.
- turned 20
-realized when to let people fix themselves
- learned how powerful forgiveness can be
- spoke at Stetson and Valencia about my life
- wrote five research papers total
-started working at a job I hope to keep for years
-started training in karate
-made a whole lot of art and a mural
- met Ben. Theres a lot that he brought into my life
- spent a whole lot of time with Kelly
- dated Adam and got my karma
- started going to Natura more often
- got in a lot of arguments with Kirby
- watched Louisa, Lena, and Lara grow up
-got sick entirely too often
- made new friends at Austins every Tuesday night
-sang karaoke for the first time
-wrote to a lot of people, and gained a few more penpals
- had ovarian cysts
- lived in a house
- got the courage to say a lot of things I've wanted to for awhile
There's more, of course, but this is a good list. I'm pretty excited for my progress and what 2008 will bring. I'll eventually post all the art I've done this year, I promise
