Outside and Inside 25 Unicorn Street, Monday Afternoon

Considering how long they'd both been thinking about it, the decision to move Kitty into Clint's place had taken forever. Getting around to actually moving her belongings, on the other hand, hadn't taken that long--although the moving process would probably be taking less time if they'd checked a 10-day forecast before picking the day. "The computer equipment, but I've got those wrapped up," Kitty said, picking one of the boxes up. "You should have seen me trying to wrap thousands of dollars worth of electronics in saran wrap before class this morning."

"That's a fun mental picture, thanks," Clint said, grabbing one of the bigger boxes. "We can re-use it and wrap it around the dog beds and see how much confusion we cause." He was such a kind pet owner.

"You know that's going to end in them sleeping with us," Kitty pointed out, pushing the door open to start inside.

"They do that anyway. They'll definitely be doing that if it's really cold tonight," Clint said, following her in. "Just another thing you'll have to get used to, I guess."

"I can do that. I mean, Lockheed sleeps with me sometimes," Kitty said, and paused as she looked around the room. "Uh, is there anywhere I should put this?"

Because it was his house, after all, and thinking of it as otherwise was going to take some getting used to.

"You can put it wherever will make it easier for you to unpack. I'm fully expecting to have some boxes around for a while," Clint said. He didn't want to rush her, especially when he still had some stuff sitting in boxes in his closet from when he moved in.

"Okay," she said, setting it down against a wall that she thought would be enough out of the way. "I'm gonna try to get most of the stuff unpacked as soon as I can, too. I don't want you and the dogs to have to move around all my stuff when I'm in Westchester."

"Aww, but I was going to make them an obstacle course while you weren't around," Clint said. He was slightly teasing, but not by much. He set the box he was holding down next to the first box and smiled at Kitty. "There's no rush. I'd rather have you figure out where you want everything to go. It's not like you're going anywhere."

That was partly for her benefit, and partly to reassure himself.

"True," she said. "I just like being able to settle in a little. It's always made it a little easier when I'm in a new place. Not that this is exactly new..."

"It's new enough. We can always change things up if you need to," Clint said. "And if you need me to move any of my stuff..."

"Yeah," she said, and nodded. "This is a little weird, right? The whole consolidating and moving stuff... stuff?"

Clint nodded emphatically, letting out a sigh of relief. "It's weird, and I don't know why, because it's not like you've never been here before. But the mixing of... stuff is kind of weird."

"Okay, good, it's not just me," Kitty said. "It's like everything here's already established, and I'm used to everything being somewhere, and... weird."

"Nothing's that established, I promise," Clint said. "I don't have enough stuff to be established, or to be unwilling to move stuff if I need to."

"Okay," she said, though she still sounded a little unsure, because it was still his stuff. "Think there's a way to make it less weird, or do we just need to suck it up and get through it?"

Clint thought about it for a moment. "Do you have any stuff that you don't care where it goes? And I can decide? So, it's your stuff but it's still me establishing it or whatever."
