let's party like we're still fifteen because life wasn't so hard then [party]

12 Grimmauld Place hadn't ever looked so festive before. Streamers were lingering in the exposed beams, fashioned Hogwart House crests were in their own separate rooms- the Slytherin crest up in the attic, where he was absolutely sure a ghoul was hanging out- and food and drinks set up in nearly every room he could stuff them into. Thank Merlin for The Leaky Cauldon and Hannah Abbott for putting that together.

It was actually sort of, creepy, how welcoming it looked. Harry was used to the withered wallpaper, the creaky floors, the hideous and terrifying portraits of Sirius' Pureblooded bigoted weirdo family screaming whenever they saw the sunlight.

Of course, most of that was all still there- renovating 12 Grimmauld never seemed like something Harry wanted to do in his current overworked, Bachelorhood state- even if it wasn't exactly the best type of pad to bring back the ladies to.

But he didn't really have to worry about that, he thought, well he hoped- things with Ginny seemed to be going in a direction that might have been leading to something in a better direction.

Or something.

As he adjusted the too short tie around his neck, a last glance in the mirror gave Harry a chuckle. The sweater was too small, the edge riding up his torso, the pants ankle length now. But he looked the part- he thought. A true Gryffindor student.

With everything going on, this was what they all needed - a last hurrah before the school year started, an attempt to relieve the stresses surrounding the controversy at sending students back amongst the impending battles between the creatures in the Forbidden Forest. You can't stop your life during war, can you?
