The final household to host the Headmaster was the children's home - Belladonna Hall. Right off the bat, it was off to a bad start with Carrie burning the salmon. Something Headmaster Shane didn't take too kindly to, "I'd think you would know how to cook better than this, raising all these kids." Carrie was crushed.
Elizabeth came to Carrie's defense, "It's not burnt, it's... it's pan seared.". Even Simon played along, "This is some real gourmet shit.".
If there's one thing Simon could do well, besides fighting, was schmooze. It was most likely a bunch of BS, because he often missed school and work, but he was smooth, and Headmaster Shane ate it right up.
"Simon is one of our special kids.", Carrie announced, regaining her composure while clearing the table, "I suspect he'll be an attorney someday.".
Carrie put on a pot of coffee, and continued to talk about the home.
"They really are good kids. They do their work, and all hold down after school jobs. Sometimes it gets a little crazy here, but that's naturally to be expected with eight teenagers living under one roof.".
A smustle flashmob broke out in the kitchen. I see Simon is on his best behavior; he must really want to get into that private school. Although I'm not sure if I trust his Cheshire grin.
"I'm so going to kick your ass after he leaves."
Spoke too soon. Another day, another fight. *sigh*
Carrie hurried Headmaster Shane into the study, to show him some of the curriculum on the the computer.
"This is a wonderful facility, and you've really got your work cut out for you, but... between burnt food, all the fighting, and kicking over trashcans, I just don't think they're ready for our school.". Headmaster Shane could see the defeat across her face, and added, "Maybe next year.".
Ouch! Sadly, Belladonna Hall only scored 87 points. Not even the fresh brewed coffee was able save them.
