Well these past few weeks have not been the greatest. To say the least, I've been through the wringer in worries, guilt, anxiety and frustration. I've been on a bit of a downswing, so to speak, but it seems to at least be leveling out. I am trying not to go over all the things "wrong" but instead set my sights on the horizon and all the things I can improve/am improving. Not only does it make me feel better but it works more with the laws of attraction. Yep.
A big help.. I came across a quote that I totally love which is "The price of discipline is always less than the pain of regret -- and the reward of accomplishment" (I added that last part!) -- I don't really know who it's by, if anyone in particular, but I'll try to figure it out. I read it on this blog I am reading at www.iwillchangeyourlife.com. It has a ton of great articles which I find usually pretty inspiring and relaxing.
The other thing that helped was a list I wrote on the way to work the other day. I have read over it a few times and just reading the positive qualities makes me feel better, also probably attracting them to myself at the same time. As well, because it's about others/the process it takes off the pressure. It's not about me in particular, per se, so it doesn't make me feel like "*gasp* I don't know! It's not me! Argh!"
Here's the list:
Things I greatly admire in others and would like to see in myself :
- Who are confident
- Who are hard-working
- Who are successful
- Who finish what they start
- Who think before they speak
- Who don't need other's to prove their worth
- Who read a lot
- Who make use of their time
- Who are environmentally friendly
- Who are witty
- Who can cook
- Who genuinely don't care what others think
- Who know more than one language
- Who are outgoing and spontaneous
- Who are smart
- Who are mature
- Who are humble
- Who have a successful relationship
- Who are open-minded
- Who are always kind
- Who can change the world
- Who are noncompetitive
- Who are good at games/win things easily
- Who can party hard without looking like an idiot
- Who are good with animals
- Who are good with money
- Who have faith/religion
- Who read the paper every day
- Who are disciplined
- Who are punctual
- Who make others feel comfortable
- Who are adventurous
- Who are athletic/have a good body
- Who are stylish/are well dressed
- who are responsible
- Who are conscientious
- Who are reliable
- Who can control themselves
- Who always get the last word
- Who smile a lot
So yeah, that's the list. =) I have some of these qualities but I would like to make them better, and others I don't have at all but would like to have.. Either way it is nice to see these positive characteristics. Also, another thing that's really encouraged me lately has been the people around me who are doing such a great job at life and being a good person and show these traits.
Anyway, as usual I am keeping my head above water and waiting it out until a brighter time comes my way. I know it will it -- sometimes just takes a while to get there. =) I am just wondering when the fight will be up and I'll be the person I so badly want to be. Even more so, I'm waiting for the day that I know who I am so I get on to being me.
