In the Land Of the Pig the Butcher Is King

Life under Umat's rule is a lot busier than Aria had expected. The palace is expected to rise at sunset and they stay up until dawn. Dawn executions are an almost every day occurrence now - the dungeons overflowing with vampires the Elder deems to be weak of blood, which is almost anyone blooded under Gene's reign.

The day to day running of the lands are shared between Umat, Cadence and Aria - the siblings often sent out to speak with the human officials or to see to official business. It's much more responsibility than Aria ever expected to have but there's part of him which relishes it. He's respected and, in some cases, feared, though he doesn't have the appetite for creating terror that his master does.

Tonight Aria and Cadence have spent their time going over plans for extending a town with one of the local planners and the mayor. Umat is keen to increase the human populations in his smaller towns and villages.

Aria rides in through the palace gates with Cadence by his side and dismounts, handing his horse off to one of the servants who greets them. The golden haired siblings cross the palace entry hall, removing their riding gloves on their way to the throne room, footsteps echoing off the marble floor.

"We're returned, Master," Cadence announces as they're let into the throne room and take their position kneeling at the foot of Umat's throne.
