"Do you not have servants to help with that sort of thing? I come back to find you worked to the bone, still... no change, I see."
Dressed in his trademark darks and patented leather jacket, Damon leant across from his former lover, smiling a little across the darkening lawn. His eyes softened a little.
Aria opened his eyes. It took him a moment to register that he wasn't dreaming, but when this fact finally clicked into place he was suddenly wide awake.
He froze, unsure what to think, what to feel...
He was shocked mostly, and yes he was a little frightened, but his heart also fluttered in a way that he couldn't deny felt nice. Despite everything he couldn't helping being pleased to see him, it was only now that he truly realised exactly how much he'd missed him.
He didn't move, just stared for a long time, eyes wide with surprise. Eventually he spoke, his voice trembling, hesitant to believe what he was seeing. "...D..Damon?..."
Aria wasn't sure how to react - the old nickname Damon used to call him sent the memories of those wonderful times they spent together flooding back. But Aria couldn't completely banish a little suspicion, a little uncertainty. ...Damon was not human.
Aria stood slowly, supporting himself with the tree behind him. "You came back?"
"Suppose... oh. Master Aria.. did you not want to see him?"
That was... something she had feared, so she hadn't even told him Damon would be here.

Damon meanwhile was at one of the houses he often took out for visits. Some things had changed and some had not in the City. He had no intention of staying long and assumed... now he was here, Aria merely wanted to lay ghosts to rest.
Dreams.. could just be memories he chased. His feelings now could well be of hatred. And he was prepared for that. Even expecting it.
"No, I want to see him, I just wish you'd told me he was coming to the city if you knew. The shock of seeing him near gave me a heart attack..."
Aria sighed. "But no matter, it's alright."
Aria still wasn't completely sure what he felt about Damon - he knew that he was constantly on his mind, and he knew that he wanted to ask him some questions, also to apologise for some things he'd said and done that he was worried had hurt the other man. But after that? ... he didn't know....
Damon arrived to the shelter in the same stealth he intended to leave by.
Instantly mauled by Marriana who was chopping salad for the meal, he patted her back softly, scenting her briefly as he smiled at the tears in her eyes.
She was a good girl... kind. Innocent. He had wondered if leaving her with his memory - all of them - had been wise.
"Where is your Master?" he enquired, declining her offer to dine.
Aria was in his study/bedroom - he was sitting on the sofa with his blankets pulled around him and his feet up, carefully going through lists of donations and expenses.
He was so engrossed in his task that he didn't hear Damon arrive and was oblivious that they were in the same building.
