I don't know what I'm doing :`-( I have PMS. I just want to dress up in big white shades and go shopping with a tea cup doggy. I want to drip powdered sugar all down my front. Does this sound good to you? Let's go! (Should I make that my personal add?) Really I want to have someone hold my hand--and we could laugh and make each other feel ( Read more... )

The job was called multicultural education something or other... It was at the Skyline Towers--mostly a Somali building, and I was going to be tutoring elementary kids.

I thought I was getting lucky because you have to do so many hours to receive a stipend, and I would've been jumping in right at the end-- so--getting a large chunk of the money all at once and struggling to finish hundreds of volunteer hrs by August, even though really, I would be working for about $5 per hour :-(

There's no way I could live on that amount for a year. So, that sucks. Most of the positions are year long commitments. That blows, Americorps.

I'm applying to be a test scorer on Wed. Bleh. Whatever!!!

I didn't know that you did americorps!!! Wow, you have my respect--especially for being able to make rent. What do you do there? And is it a good job? How long are you going to do it? That makes me reconsider looking into more Americorps...

i work at spnn, a public access station. for a one year term...finished this august. i like the work, but i don't like that it is essentially a white collar job for which i am paid minimum wage. it does give you connections, if you are interested in networking. however, i wouldn't recommend doing americorps unless you are REALLY REALLY interested in the focus of your corps, because it eats your life. i am always surprised at how passionate everyone else seems as opposed to how "meh" i generally feel. also, unless you are at the same site, you don't even get to see other corps members very often in my corps.

if i did it again, i think i would prefer to do it for adventure and possibly for a shorter time.
