So the last couple weeks has been a lil change of pace for me. I've been given some new opportunties and new chances with my job.
Lets see...
Well - let's start with softball. Last week, both WBTV softball teams lost in the first round of the pre-season tournament. This week, my team (WBTV Blue) had to face the same team as last week - Street & Smith - last year's defending champs. We lost worst this week, even though we looked better starting the game. The game got called bc we were trailing by 12 points at the bottom of the 5th inning. That sounds REALLY bad - and it was. But we did start off the game up thru the bottom of the 2nd inning being up 5-1.
So we were winning for the first couple innings. Both games, I got hits everytime I went up, got on base and had an RBI each time. So thats always good. At least I wasnt striking out. *knocks on wood*
The other team (WBTV Gold) won its game - barely. One point. But like a true Clemson fan, I believe a check in the "W" is a check in the "W" column! A girl on the team they were playing broke her ankle pretty bad as she was sliding into third. People were saying that the EMTs couldnt find her pulse in her ankle when they were leaving, so she might have severed an artery. Ouch!
Okay... On to work stuff...
I produced the Noon show by myself the other day. I was nervous as hell for almost the whole time. Around 10:45, I started to feel at ease and then 30 minutes later, it came back. I was nervous because I hadn't seen out meterologist. I tried asking around, but everyone was all "Oh, he's around somewhere."
Well... I was right. At 11:40, they realized he WASN'T around. I freaked out. 20 minutes before the show and 1/3 of my show was not around. I was scrambling trying to figure out what to do because I didn't have all that much help from the people who have experience.
The show went okay, I guess. I had John ad-lib weather for one minute and threw in a package that hadn't been used the night before.
And....
The last couple days, I've been in early to help with the morning shows because Jen's on vaction. But we have to go to the after-show meeting now. Peace!
