Wow

So, Frankenstein was amazing. Benedict was amazing. It's a gripping, intense play and I'm still thinking about it - actually had trouble dropping off to sleep last night, and when I did, I dreamed about it.

The theater was packed. I was seriously thinking there might just be the five of us there (we met sif_aka_joanna and her daughter in the lobby), but I ( Read more... )

You too! I didn't fall asleep until nearly 4 am. Even the fluff of 5-0 couldn't stop my brain.

See you at Easter? And yes heaven help me could you get a ticket for the evening showing. I don't think I can do the early one, but I'd love to see Benedict as the Doctor

I know! I was thinking about it all the way home, too. Didn't even listen to the radio or CDs...

Okay, I've just booked two tickets for Saturday evening. :-) I'll let you know my specific arrangements as we get closer, but count on Saturday night (it's at 8 pm, by the way, not 7:30 like last night).

Hey, would you mind if I made this post public? I don't know why I locked it to begin with, it was just habit, but someone asked me if they could link to it and I thought I should make sure it was okay with the commenters.

YAY. This makes me very happy to read. (Mind if I link this review? Is it locked? I think it's succinct and well-written).

Fangirls I was with at the screening did not enjoy it so much (I had seen it live in London prior), and I'm pleased that others saw what I saw in it.

Thank you! I did lock it, but just out of habit - I'm happy to unlock it so you can link, as long as it's okay with the other two commenters. I've asked them and I'll let you know.

Man, I wish I could have seen it live, but this was definitely better than not seeing it at all. It was interesting to me how different the pace was compared to a film and some of the camera choices they made. But the emotion still comes across so powerfully.

Man, it sounds terrific, in all senses of that word. I really hope there is eventually a DVD. *crosses fingers*

I hope you get to see the vice versa version.

Hee! I've just booked tickets for version two. I can hardly wait to see BC's take on Victor. But I am still hoping for a DVD - or maybe Danny Boyle will decide he wants to make a movie of the play (and keep Benedict and Jonny as the leads).

Say, would you mind if I unlocked this post? I had it f-locked from habit, but another commenter asked if she could link to it and I wanted to make sure it was okay with the other commenters.

Ooh, a movie would be even better! And it would finally expunge the Branagh/De Niro thing from my mind.

Unlock away. :D
