Remus fingered the edge of his newly minted Order of Merlin First Class. It was wholly apparent to him that all that glittered was not gold. Severus' was being presented now to no one in particular in a glass case; it was destined for Hogwarts to be displayed. Tears threatened as his mind cried out Severus. What had become of him? There was no body, no portrait in the Headmaster's office, no sign. Remus was bereft, but the living must go on living. For now, finding out what had happened to their other hero would have to be his private hobby.
