I love that you took this prompt and ran with it, simply because it opened the avenues for Luna and Severus to tip the balance and reverse the mentoring roles. The vivid descriptions of how paint solidifies from the awry spell work is just so well done and I felt as though I was watching the scene from a hiding spot.
Severus the sulky teenager is just glorious, his eyes drifting to Luna's enhanced cleavage, the bobbing Adam's Apple, the questioning and his eventual reversal to an adult - the adult of the books.
I love all the asides and observations of Luna, her care for the maggot and the enhancement to nurture it past a pupa. It works so well as a contrast to Severus himself. Very cleverly done and it neatly worked its way from what could have been a more earthy story, into something far more interesting. An annoyed Dumbledore is just the icing on the cake. :)
Lines that made me laugh out loud were numerous, but I particularly liked the idea of Hermione offering to help. That still makes me smile actually. Luna's possessiveness and care routs all the well-wishers though.
The idea of being a victim of her own success, the endangerment of the Crumple-Horned Snorkacks and the release and freedom of the mnaggot - saved by basking in the sun, are a perfect adjunct to Luna's 'distraction'.
The maggot earned its freedom, as did Severus.
Loved it! Thank you - you've made my week! :D
Oh, and before I forget - I adore the banner and thank you for the extra treat. :)

Which is why I then realized you didn't misspell aquavirius. You gave me a new creature to write about, and thus, my story was able to go in its own direction, complete with gestation between knockers.
I'm thrilled with the banner. The amazing part is that someone offered to make it without having read the fic, and just asked what elements to put in it. I was stunned when I saw how perfect it was. (And did you see the maggot? That made me laugh.)
