Adventures on 580

Driving down the freeway today, I was on my way home in my Jeep. I was in a good mood, I didn't have class and got to go home early. But then, this giant-and I do mean GIANT- rock came flying from under a car in the lane next to me and smacked so hard into my windshield that it cracked. About 2 inches in diameter, it shattered and I practically have a hole in my windshield now. The glass flew into my face and my lap. I was shocked at how quickly it happened. I'd never seen glass shatter in front of my face like that. For a moment, I panicked. The window already has a crack all the way from top to bottom. I can't notice it anyway because it's right in front of me, so it's barely a line. But that means the window is already weak. And the rock hit right next to it. I was panicking because I was expecting the whole thing to shatter and fall into the car. Luckily, it didn't. But chunks kept falling off as I drove home. It's not as bad as I initially thought it was, but it definitely needs to be replaced. It won't hold on the freeway.

I did pretty good not freaking out. I didn't slam the brakes and I didn't swerve. I did just fine. Except that I was PISSED and totally FREAKED OUT. But tomorrow it's getting fixed so I'm taking my stepdad's truck to school so all will be fine.

In other news, Amy and Ryan's goodbye party is next weekend and that should be fun. Kind of. I mean, they're leaving. It sucks that they're moving just as I started hanging out with them. I just met them! But oh well...we'll just have to make the most of the time left. And keep talking online.
