Sister-llamas are the best.

I need to shout out to the sister-llama who has managed to cajole me into leaving my llama-cave once in a while, and who ensures by her presence that I have a pretty nifty time. Saturday afternoon, vexed by studying, my sister-llama dialed me at home and suggested that we take a walk. I was vexed by procrastination and watching "Twin Peaks" reruns, so it was a a welcome break. She came over and I gave her the llama-walking tour of Olathe (well, the route to the park and back) which was probably around 3 miles total. Then, she tried my raspberry rhubarb tapioca (she's a good sport) and admired M's skills with his new slicer.

We wended our way to Westport, to go the Tivoli art theater. We got their early, so we were able to spend some time wandering around the artist's booths at the art fair outside. We both really enjoyed the film, Adam, about a lonely engineer with Asperger's who falls in love with his new neighbor. Hugh Dancy not only pulls off a very creditable American accent, but imbues his Aspie character with warmth and humanity. As Borg, I found it both familiar and sort of uncomfortable to see some of our behaviors portrayed on the movie screen.

Tonight, after work and school, I picked my sister-llama up at the med center, and we both headed over to West African Dance class. Verdict: Extremely fun and a terrific workout (I was dripping rivulets of sweat on the floor). My sister llama had taken a previous class in college. Luckily, since it was the first day, the instructor broke down the moves into easily digestible sections. When I looked in the mirror of the dance studio, I felt like a chubby ungraceful llama flailing about, but when I just concentrated on the beat of the drums (there were several live drummers!) and just let my body move, it was awesome.

After supper, I fed the worms some of my coffee grounds and green bean ends. I can't stop humming, "Feed the worms, tuppence a bag, tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a baaaggg!" M. is looking at strangely. (He must have had a deprived childhood - he doesn't know about Mary Poppins!)
