feeling like a refugee from Kharkosia

Spent some quality time in KC International airport today. Tamar dropped me off at 9:30 am for a 2:15 pm flight to LGA because she had to go to work. Then, the flight was delayed another a 2 hours because the aircraft was late getting off the ground in orange county (yes, the OC, CA) Strange how a butterfly flaps its wings in China... My folks picked me up in a rental Taurus with a built in Magellan navigator thing ("get into the left lane") [Mitch's interjection: "Ours {Garmin's} are better"] Anyway, now using my cousin Dahlia's computer (and her bedroom, 'cause she's still at camp) at the Nussbaum family home in Woodmere, Long Island, NY.
Airport time was actually quite relaxing, esp. after chasing kids around for 5 weeks. I clipped coupons, read part of _Caesar's Women_ by Colleen McCollough, that I bought last summer at the Brandeis book sale and never opened, bought a caramel macchiato from the starbucks stand, spent $15 (!) on lunch that consisted of a sandwich, chips and bottle of Boulevard Pale Ale. Hehe, I can buy booze in airports! A woman my age eating pizza struck up on a conversation with me, she was delayed on flight going to Philadelphia. It was a nice chat we had, random how people who don't know each other can share random thoughts about family, kids and the universe. I never even learned her name.
Kind of sad and happy that camp is over. I think the full effect will probably hit me about a month from now. I will really miss the other staff members. There was never enough "counselor time" because we were always so focused on the kids. Friday night, I played "Cranium" for the first time. I think I have a new favorite board game, but its only fun if you play with enough (in our case, 8) people. Maybe I'll request that for a birthday gift (that, and a worm farm!)
Very, very tired now. Must go to sleep.
