Day 5

In your own space, talk about your fannish origin story. How did you come to fandom, why did you choose your fannish name, do you have more than one secret identity? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

[Origin Story...]To be perfectly honest, I've been in this fandom so very long that I don't even remember how I got into it. If I had to hazard a guess, I think I got into it because it was suggested by someone on Gaia Online in one of my roleplaying circles. To the best of my investigative skills, this was in 2006. So, I've been in the fandom about 9 years now. I would have been around 16 at that time.

The very first Drarry fanfic that I ever remember reading had such an impact on me. It really was such a great fic to start off my obsession. It impacted me in so many ways. After that, I was hooked. I read everything I could get my hands on.

A Mile in His Shoes by Sansa is what made me take Harry Potter out of Canon and dare to make it something more. That fic is why I'm here today and I couldn't thank her enough.

My fannish name is entirely because I love peppermint to an unhealthy degree and I wanted something cutesy. I distinctively remember making my name, but the thought process behind it is kind of scattered. I think I originally wanted to be SnuggleMuffin, but it was taken. Why I wanted this... I have no earthly clue.

I have snugglemintfics which features a lot of my drabbles, but I do also have sempermea which was used for only 1 fic. I had made it to try and restart my fanfic career. I had a real problem with starting and not finishing fics and I thought a fresh start without accussing eyes could help me. I've since accepted that I am who I am and I can't hide from my misgivings. All I can do is rise above them and try to be better.

My very, very first writing didn't start getting published until 2007 on FF.net and because I love you, I'm going to share that. I was Chrystalline-Tears there and yes, I'm aware now that I spelled crystalline wrong. :P
