Snowflake Challenge - Day 3

Day 3

In your own space, talk about your creative process - from what inspires you to what motivates you to how you manage to break through blocks. Does your process change depending on the type of creating you're doing? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

[Motivations]I think, in my case, calling it a process is kind. A process is ordered, but my writing tendancies are more chaotic.

I find that what motivates me the most are prompts. Sometimes small word prompts work out, but when I'm given a bunch of words to choose from, or a few scenarios to pick from, I have an easier time creating.

Some days I have my own prompts that I like to work through and on those days, I can type without pause for as long as my stamina holds out. Other days, like the last two days, when I have no inspiration it can be a struggle. I've employed rain background noises and write or die to struggle through the 1,000 words I've promised myself.

I've kept with it though because words are words and even if they aren't shared, they're still words that will help me grow and learn in the future.

There really is no secret for me. It's all about it either happening or struggling to make it happen. I won't always be happy with what I create, but every "failed" session is helping me to adapt to situations and settings or to overcome a block.
