Child Abuse in an Adult's Eyes

Reading Harry Potter after having your firstborn is a mindfuck.

The level of child abuse and mental torture is extremely horrifying.

So, I put forth this question: Was Wizarding Society worth saving, especially Wizarding Britain, when its champion was an orphan? When its Dark Lord was also an orphan?

If I wrote this story, it would be called "A Tale of Two Orphans."

I used to believe that Tom Riddle Jr. was the problem, but it's clear to me now that Tom Riddle Jr. is a symptom of a racist, speciest, inborn, inbred society that became stagnant in its xenophobia and archaic traditions, all in the pursuit of magic, in the pursuit of power.

It's men like Dumbledore who make an army of children like Harry. It's men like Dumbledore who kill their sister.

It's men like Dumbledore who introduce an orphan to magic by lighting a wardrobe on fire and showing Tom Riddle Jr. that destruction was a wizard's power, in a time of war.

When this happens, it's worth it to break the Statute of Secrecy. Expose a society that worships a man who did not save two orphans but led them down a twisted path way way past the Forbidden Forest.

It's also time to break the Statute of Secrecy on child abuse. Expose your abusers. Count your scars. Whether or not its a lightning bolt.
