Scarred for life
I shouldn't have left her alone to sleep in a room she didn't know.
A week later, we have this conversation at bedtime (The scary balloon was a little lit window in an otherwise pitch black room) :
Is difficult sleep, mummy
Why is that?
Katja scared balloon and scream and mummy comes and granny comes and Katja scared scary balloon, mummy. Balloon at Joy's house, not Katja's house. Doggy Julle's house. Julle not sleep bed he sleep basket. Not scary balloon.
[Repeat for 10 minutes]
For a 2-year-old, that's pretty advanced conversation. And it breaks my heart that I was so stupid :(
