Ah, okay, *now* I get it! Slow duck is slow.

Intentions definitely make things complicated. Another example that comes to mind is the movie Suckerpunch, which I haven't seen personally, but have seen two very different POVs about it. It was intended to be about female empowerment, but some see it as the complete opposite and others say that it achieved its intent. It also makes me think about analyzing texts, i.e. close reading in English classes, where it's highly possible that the author didn't consciously intend such symbolism or what have you, but it's there.

It could also bring up the issue of political correctness and censoring - if it can be interpreted a certain way, should it not be said/produced/released to the public at all?

Oh, and it also brings up the idea of acting and the actor having a choice in the characters they play according to their own morals, even though the character is not them and therefore not with their own morals. a) The success of idoldom is the idea that the person on stage is really who they are, but if they're instead putting on an act, they're no longer an idol. b) If they're acting, does their own morals really matter if they're pretending to be someone they're not? c) But only the well-established actors have the privilege of choosing what roles they get. When they're starting out, they - arguably - have to take what they're given. The same goes with idols, no? Actually, especially so with idols 'cause it's not often that they get to have a say in their professional ventures.

... that's very messy and I feel like I didn't really say anything DX

Man, that really makes me wish SNSD had social media (blogs, me2day, etc.) Q____Q
