It's gonna be a flurry of posts. I started the The Boys album comparison post a while back, but just today I started to comb through most of the more promising The Boys remixes, and that compilation will probably go up in a few days.
Amongst all of the remixes I discovered a slew of mashups, and most of them are entirely too amusing not to share. Apparently both "The Boys" as a melody and most Kpop arrangements are generic enough to mash.

ROFLMAO. I'm not sure what it says about "The Boys" that it can mash so many of SNSD's singles. I haven't found a RDR mashup yet, but I'm pretty sure that that combo would work well, too.
Genie for your BoysOh! lawdy, no wonder I slightly disliked The Boys on first listen. Click to view
It's fucking amazing how much more I like "The Boys" when the tempo is upped just that little bit. Same with RDR. Both songs are wait too slow and laid back in their original states. Then again, it looks like SM might have slowed down "The Boys" just to avoid making it so obvious how "The Boys" is Lucifer with more melody inserted. XD

Wow, a setting in which the "The Boys" rap actually works! Looks like they didn't waste time with the chit-chat, after all. :3

How fitting,(no pun intended) as SNSD love them some Britney.

Hah, "Tonight" was slightly disappointing as a Big Bang comeback, too.(Good thing the "Tonight" remixes are fucking awesome)
Freakmix did a whole trilogy of mashups:
Whoa, I didn't realize "I'm Busy" had genre-mashing in the arrangement. This is awesome.Just like Jumping was on first listen more exciting than Hoot, Step's arrangement is definitely better than The Boys' arrangement at least. Click to view
Actually, there are shit ton of "Party Rock The Boys" out there, but this might be the only one that actually pitch-matches the two songs. WTF. Is everyone else that tone deaf? And even this one doesn't quite match up the song structures ideally.

"I My Me Mine" was the better song.

This, the 4minute mashup, and the difference between Areia's "Dr. Feelgood" remix and the original prove that Teddy Riley might still have the composing touch in terms of melody, but man does he need help in the arrangement department. "Dr. Feelgood" repeated its arrangement hook entirely too much,(that particular dirty synth should be used in moderation for maximum impact, as Chi Chi's "Don't Play Around" knew) and both it and "The Boys" are so simply arranged, like a student in Music Theory I doing his/her first "write the accompaniment given this melody and the chord progression" assignment.

Hey, this fits better than the mash with Hollaback Girl! Lol, I never realized the Bang! arrangement was so devoid of any melody indicators, even during the melodic interlude.

If only they had pitched matched tonic-to-tonic instead of this weird juxtaposition that kind of works until you reach the adlibs!
