Earlier:
- @soshified Kuse ni naru wa means "become an habit"
- @soshified kuse ni naru wa means like "it's so addicting" or " i'm getting addicted to~~"
- Kanji: 癖になるは
- mixounette @soshified The end particle "wa わ" indicates emotion so the correct translation of "癖になるわ" would be "it's becoming an habit..."
Just now:
- imnikky: Instead of saying "kuse ni naru wa" over and over, they're actually changing it up "Soba ni iru wa" "Kimi mo kureba" "suki ni naru wa", etc
- 癖になるわ / そばにいるわ / 君もくれば / 好きになるわ〜 #SNSD0825
Translation:
- Soba ni iru wa: To be by your side
- Kimi mo kureba: If you come*
- Suki ni naru wa: To be your favorite
*This is what's coming up in Babelfish and such translators. However, looking through this site using "くれば," I was pointed to 繰る, 来る:
- 繰る 【くる】(1) to turn (pages); (2) to reel
- 来る 【くる】(1) to come (spatially or temporally); to approach; to arrive; [skipping 2]; (3) to come to be; to become; to get; to grow; to continue
So basically .... any Japanese speakers in the house? xP
I'm quite curious as to how they're changing it from "Tell me your wish" to these new lines. The original line gives them power - I mean, the song was all about granting people's wishes. But since they're still going with a genie concept, perhaps if just worked out to cut out that phrase from the Japanese version? I'm just hoping the meaning hasn't been totally changed (the preview didn't tell us anything, really).
