Hyo was from the boys' class,plus it seemed like most of their clique wasn't from SME,so she probably didn't belong in Jessica's clique

I thought this for a while, too, but then the whole story about pranking/bullying YuRi together threw me off. It suggested that they hung out enough around the SM building to go bully new trainees--along with SooYoung. (When would that have been? 2001?) I wasn't sure how to interpret their pre-debut days after that. They do have pre-debut pics with each other floating around (in one of the pics Jessica looks years older than Hyo, lol). I think they also participated in showcases together from a young age, way before SNSD was put together (they all look super young).

SeoHyun invokes feelings of protectiveness, probably helped by the fact that other members cheerfully baby her when they can or tease her precisely because she's the maknae. I lol'd when it seemed like even her mother thought her daughter was a little uptight when she appeared on "Chocolate" and was thankful to the others for helping to loosen her up.
