Man, I never thought that SM could have had the emphasis on the members' ~bonds~ better than they did with DBSK, but lo and behold, I think they've built an even bigger trench for SNSD to get out of. Can you imagine the shitstorm that would occur if any of the 9 were to leave any time soon? I guess it would be a bit different if it was Hyoyeon leaving versus, say, Taeyeon or Jessica, but with people being so obsessive over ~the power of 9~, I'm just waiting for people to lose their shit. I'm a terrible person.
I think it would depend more on what the leaving member was trying to do post-SNSD, as well as the reactions of the other members. If everyone says it was a mutual decision, fans would probably have no choice but to support it. If, say, Sooyoung or Seohyun chose to "focus on her studies," or Hyoyeon disappeared into SMEnt to become a choreographer/backdancer/all of the things Jaewon now does like DJing, etc., then I think fans would be okay with that, too, because it's not an obvious snub to the others.
A Hangeng situation, on the other hand, would produce epic wank. I would need so much popcorn.
Man, I am so immune to ridiculous member changes now after all of the shit that recently went down in the 48 franchise. Everyone's actually disappointed that there haven't been any dropped bomb announcements at the SKE concert these past few days. XD
Did you hear that subgroup rumor that was going around? I remember like a year (or two???) ago when a subgroup rumor was going around and everyone was like "DNW!! Nothing without9!!" I was pretty surprised that the reactions were so different this time around.
(Not that anything was official - but I think it still shows a change in attitude towards subgrouping. Perhaps it's also because we're so used to them having solo activities now?)
Quick, if Big Bang is any indication they'll want to break the group up unless someone gets into an epic scandal! Get one of those girls into an accident stat!
Actually, y'know what'll be interesting? Seeing what happens with SuJu now that Kangin's out of the army. (Which, btw, made me go WTF?!?! realizing that it's already been that long o_o!!!)
