I was thinking about posting up my responses as well but you've hit everything and more. I was actually surprised at the quotes and also the pictures used - for example, Sunny's pic didn't seem to match her quote - so it makes me wonder how much of a say they've had in creating them. They're promo posters so of course there's a marketing scheme to them, but at the same time, it makes me wary that they're using such blatant drama/troll type marketing. Are the other groups' like this too?

Kangta: Pretty interesting.
BoA: A little trollzy but still quite interesting.
f(x): LolKrystal with her CUTE, but otherwise lots of food for thought.
Shinee: Lol. It's like an after-school special, and then Jonghyun is just like "Fuck that, Imma troll everything."

I think the pictures are the most random part, there's no rhyme or reason to them. But the posters themselves are so cheesy and photoshop fodder, too. At any rate, these posters aren't going to intrigue anyone who isn't already in the fandom. As expected of SM these days. -_- Except maybe Kangta's. Or Victoria's. Maybe Yuri's, because that picture *_*

LOLWHUT??? I don't understand any of these...

At any rate, these posters aren't going to intrigue anyone who isn't already in the fandom.
... especially because of that. Grey mentioned how they sound pretty pessimistic, which is part of what's so weird about this. Is SM deliberately trying to troll their fans? Does SM even do that?? So. Confused.

On the other hand, it's the positive or humble ones that are the most cheesy and will put non-fans off. The negative ones like Kangta, Yoona, or Victoria's are the ones that will intrigue them to maybe take a peek at the film.

Apop's earnestness just isn't going to fly in the West as a whole. The reason the existing international fanbase loves Apop's shameless positive "sincerity" is because they were looking for something different from their local pop culture, which inherently means that it won't appeal as much to people who were fine with it, the targets of a true push for international recognition.

So wait, this pessimism is a sign of "sincerity" or "genuineness"?

By "sincerity" I mean how unironically positive Apop can be. The way most of these posters are, which most non-fans or even casual international fans read as bullshit. Some of them do seem genuinely positive-spun, like Luna's, but those just ring cheesy. The pessimistic ones, where we can smell the dirt they're dangling in our face, are the interesting ones. The pessimism could be neither sincere nor genuine, but who cares, it's juicy.
