Numerous world-famous musicians have participated in SNSD’s first U.S. single project, including Snoop Dogg.
I don't know how to feel about this o_o.
(Article here on AKP) [ETA] Listened to the
Snoop remix and the first thing that came to my mind was, "Well, that was pointless." -_-; SM, you're transparency (re: just wanna get more money 8D!) continues to endear me not.
SNSD’s US maxi single will consist of several different version of “The Boys”, including a slow-tempo English version as well as a club remix, and an a capella version.
Really hope that these are legit different versions - not just using the same recordings, y'know? Not sure how a slow-tempo version would sound; wondering if the club remix is going to be one of the remix winners ('cause if not, what was the point of the contest in the first place?).
They don’t have any specific plans to promote in the US, however, it could happen if the right opportunity came along.
This makes me curious, especially when compared to 2NE1 and Wonder Girls' moves into the American music scene. If this maxi single gets enough attention, will this mean SM will invest in legit move into the U.S. for SNSD? But it still doesn't look like they're investing much into Japan - though, quite surprised that they made it to Kohaku.
Oh hey, teaser of the Japanese version of The Boys
here. Did I hear "Catch a dream"? "Catch a wish? o_o?? Seems like it's going to have different "feel" again, like how the Japanese versions of Genie and RDR were bit different from the Korean versions.
