SMTown Tokyo was broadcast in Japan this past week. Fucking dammit it looks like they brought their Korean stupid camera techniques with them. At least they had that ass shot during the butt train. All hail Japan!
Taemin has more raw energy and harder hits,(more flash) but Eunhyuk has the smoother transitions and better poise that popping across the techniques calls for.
Lunaaaaaa <3 Up until my attention is all Yuri's because, daaaaaaaaaaaaaayuuuuuuuummmmmmmm the girl is hawt. :d When she's not tiptoeing through the tulips, anyways. XD
Yoona's like Taemin for me. She has the precision and the energy, but the presence is a little lacking. Of course, said precision and energy (and I'm betting she learns routines quickly, too) means that she can take on more techniques, as shown by the difference between her and Yuri's ITNW concert dance battle solos. And I personally preferred Yoona's solo there, but that's me, as I've spouted my preference for technique before. In Taemin vs. Eunhyuk, though, that difference in difficulty wasn't there, hence my preference for the smooth.
Shindong and Donghae stopped doing Dance Parade?

It's amazing how much more dynamic that locking entrance is merely by their having practiced it longer than for Japan tour, and so having synced up fully. It's pretty obvious some Japanese choreographer did this set, though. There are so many cheesy classic Jpop dance moves that kind of break the flow. Especially the one during "Kanpeki na bad girl," and pretty much the entire chorus. It seems like the choreography takes all of its cues from the hook "oh-oh-oh-oh-oh" section, but I've always viewed the song through the super flow chorus, so the dance never seems to match with the song for me.
Ahahahahaha
some DBSK songs are pure JE fare. What's the difference between Jpop and Kpop boybands again?

Mmmmmm, BoA knows how to do REAL ballads, not that K-ballad shit.

It's fascinating how this reflects in some ways how American obnoxiousness makes a greater impact than the polish of Kpop. They're pitch-perfect here, but so smooth that it comes off bland. You know for a fact that Ke$ha is committed to her trainwreck of a night from the force in her DIAF exaggerated accent, and so willing to take that guaranteed wild ride with her because at least it'll be giddy fun at the time. But the Jungs? Only playing at it. Well, I dunno, sometimes I get a vibe about Krystal... (And perhaps that plus Key's AWESOME is why
My First Kiss isn't as bland. Good lord, Adam Levine, you ripped this without a whit of shame for Moves like Jagger.)
I groan at the verses of the original Tik Tok because Ke$ha's voice is still obnoxious, but it's hard to resist that chorus. The SMTown version is just boring. Thank goodness SMTown has eyecandy to make it worth watching, even if just for Krystal's "Hellz yeah I'm a pimp" :3 face.

I don't know how Jaewon comes up with magnificent masterpieces like this and ITNW but then gives us Mr. Taxi too.
Plus, they didn't pollute their "go up on wires" moment with highly inappropriate insertion of Beethoven 9. Oh wait, they were saving that for
the SMTown ending song. Dammit, Kpop!

The song is meh, but this gives us what a group full of Taeyeons would look like, and that alone is worth watching.
