On Friday I went to Bainbridge Island and Poulsbo with a couple of friends. One was taking the other, who is visiting from out of town, and I asked if I could tag along because there's a yarn shop on Bainbridge that has Blue Moon Socks that Rock sock yarn. I bought 5 skeins and I'm looking forward to making moar socks!
This weekend I tagged the documentation I wrote for usb-creator in Ubuntu and submitted it to the Ubuntu Karmic release where it has been merged! If you upgrade to Ubuntu Karmic and use the system help to look up information on creating a USB Startup Disk, those are my instructions!
I also started dialogues again regarding the Packaging Guide. One of the folks I've been working with in particular has been pretty busy so getting feedback has taken some time. In particular I have a lot of technical questions I don't know the answers to and have to rely on the power of Google to write about. The packaging guide rewrite will take some time because of these challenges. In fact, it's my understanding a lot of folks have wanted to take it on but it's a really complex document, so a bit daunting for most folks. Well, I'm not most folks.
Finally I'm finishing up my installation guide contributions. I've had mixed feelings about that project. I'll be happy to get my stuff done, but not sure if I'm going to jump on something like that again. I like topics that require me to tinker around with Ubuntu or are really challenging and heavily technical. The challenge with the install guide has been to keep the language simple so as to target the lowest skilled end-user. While I also had that challenge with the usb-creator docs, the topic was something that required me to play around with an Ubuntu application I had never used before so I didn't mind. Anyways so I'm just working on finishing those items so I can move on to the next thing.
Yesterday I played a lot of DDO. I made a Drow Rogue, and she is super fun to play. I also have a mage and a cleric but I'm not as keen on them. I used one of their pre-determined paths for creating my cleric and I kind of wish I'd created her from scratch. However, I don't know that I'd have made her too much different, so I can't really complain ;) I just really like playing a rogue. With my cleric I'm managing a lot of spells and skills and also having to watch my group's health. With the rogue, I watch my own health and can unlock secret doors and disable traps. We'll see though. The mage is a lot of fun as well, but really squishy right now. If I want to solo her, I have to get a "hireling" which is basically an NPC that you buy to accompany you on adventures.
Radagast has the sniffles. It's cute, he is blowing random snot bubbles out of his nose. The mucous is clear, luckily, or else I'd be more worried. Speaking of the little poot, one of my next knitting projects will be to make him a sweater for the colder weather that is slowly creeping up on us.
