I love it. Read the book 2 years ago and plan on seeing the movie. i am so sick of the debating and protesting that is swamping us. first off, where was the debate when the book came out? why do movies that were first books inspire debate but not the books themselves? is our culture that deprived that no one really reads anymore? second. where do you find this book? in the fiction section!!!! FICTION!!!!! not religion or something like that. it is merely a mystery novel that explores one theory about mary magdaline. there has always been controversy around her and she was only procliamed a prostitue several centuries after she died by a pope which was then later repealed by another pope. she is simply someone we do not know much about and b/c of that we must speculate. i mean there's evidence to both support and deny this and several other theories about her as well as the fact that Jesus may have had siblings. it needs to be read/seen with an open mind. it takes what little facts we have and uses them to support a possible theory while leaving out what disproves it. it is like the creation of the world, we will never know for sure. taken as fact i see why people get so upset but it isn't and those who are taking it as fact need to chill out. the church is doing quite fine, oh and guess what, most protesting i've heard about isn't from the catholic church but from members of protestant churches, and um the book doesn't touch on that but only the roman catholic one and yes i'm a catholic. did the flood with noah happen? possible on a local scale but definitely not on a global one. ugh the controversy needs to stop and people need to open their minds and take things with a grain of salt and learn that the structure of the church's tenants won't change and it won't cause people to leave but it will open people up to becoming more interested in their faith and history.
