Early to bed in order to rise early and experience Harry Potter IMAX in the morning. Mixed feeeeeelings... Deathly Hallows wasn't my favorite book ever, and in fact there are certain aspects of it that REALLY REALLY BOTHER ME A LOT, and I know I'm just going to get upset all over again about character deaths... but, honestly, this series more than anything is what defined my childhood/young adulthood, introduced me to fandom, connected me with so many friendships... and, well, it's Harry MOFO Potter, SAGA OF OUR GENERATION, and I don't know that I ever will or even can have the same relationship with another piece of fiction.
I remember going to see the very first film. My mom picked up my brother and me from middle school and drove us to the theatre in the minivan. We had to wear school uniforms then, so I changed into my Quidditch t-shirt in the backseat. It's a child's size large. I still have that shirt and wear it to every film.
Shit I am so old. Where did my whole life go. :(
I'm sure there are probably comms for this but I am too lazy to look them up myself -- does anybody have some recs for good Ginny/Luna/Neville B-team OT3 fics? Any ship combination (or gen) is fine. I really thought the first Deathly Hallows film would expand more on their side of the story as a counterpoint to filming endless hours of boring camping which would be just death on film, right, who would even want to put that in a movie (haaaaa how little I know). I was one of those people who loved Ginny and rooted for Harry/Ginny big time right up until it actually happened at which point I promptly lost interest. Go figure. But now I am really hankering to read something where Ginny is as awesome as I know she is in my mind even if it didn't quite work out the same in the text.
