(no subject)
OH MY GOSH IT IS TIME FOR SOME FLAILING OVER A FANDOM THAT I'M PRETTY SURE NOBODY ELSE ON MY FLIST SHARES BUT I DON'T REALLY CARE BECAUSE I JUST HAVE TO SQUEE ABOUT IT!!!
Despite my frequent gushing over many shows, for the most part the only TV I watch on any given day is Jeopardy! It's a nice break because I can watch TV while still convincing myself that I'm doing something productive ;) Also, my future career plan is to take the Ken Jennings route in life and suffer through some boring job for a few years before hitting it rich on Jeopardy! so I can afford to sit at home on the computer all day and maintain an awesome blog. And maybe write a book or two if I feel like it. So anyway, every night at 7:30, I plop down on my bed for some quality time with Alex Trebek.
Tonight I turned on the TV a few seconds late, so I missed the intro and jumped right into Alex's opening few sentences. When he started talking about what an exciting special few shows were coming up, my first thought was, "Ugggghhh not another Kids/Teen/College Tournament!!" because seriously those weeks are the hardest for me to deal with when all the life is sucked out of my reliable old show and replaced with inane categories about all the "hip" stuff kids are into these days. LAME. My groans soon turned into squeals of delight, however, when I realized that it was actually time for THE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS!! YESSS!!!!
Way back in May I very very quickly fell for an adorable Jeopardy! contestant. I even added him to my list of TV boyfriends, but alas! it was not meant to be, because he lost that same week. I consoled myself with the thought that he would probably make it to this year's ToC, though, so as soon as I realized it started tonight I couldn't help but go, "OMG MEHRUN ETEBARI HAD BETTER BE ON THIS WEEK!!!!" AND THEN THEY PANNED TO THE CONTESTANTS AND IT GOT EVEN BETTER, BECAUSE HE WAS TOTALLY ON TONIGHT!
...aaand then once again I jinxed him and he lost :( Sadness. Oh well he is still SO TOTALLY FANTASTIC AND OMG HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT HE HAD SO MANY CUTE MOMENTS IN A TWENTY MINUTE PROGRAM?? MY TWO FAVOURITE BITS:
-During the interview, they asked the contestants about how their previous Jeopardy! winnings affected their lives. He mentioned the internet reaction, and how a lot of old friends/classmates/teachers e-mailed him after they saw him on the show. And then... and then... OMG. He was like, "Yeah, and some of them were a little bit weirder. A random schoolteacher e-mailed me that she had a dream in which we were teaching class together in the middle of a tornado." LOLOLWTF BUT IT GETS BETTER! "And then some girl wrote in her blog--" AND I AM LIKE "OMG IT WAS TOTALLY ME AHAHAHAHA!!!" (Because I posted about him in this journal, as well as kenjennings) But it wasn't. Oh well, it was still funny: "Some girl wrote in her blog that I replaced her celebrity crush of Ben Affleck because of my awesome unibrow."

Mehrun: What is... "Do You Think I'm Sexy?"
Alex: Yes!
Mehrun: I know you do, Alex.
Me: OH MY GOD THIS IS THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!!
Since I know I'm probably the only one who watched and fangirled the show tonight, I provide pictoral evidence of his super hot eyebrows, courtesy the Jeopardy! website. They also have a fairly adorable video interview up. Oh man it gets even lamer as I begin to stalk him on facebook... I am so tempted to ask to be his friend!
