Author's Note: This is actually a very, very, VERY rare Dong Bang Shin Ki fic coming from me, especially when I mostly only write fanfics pertaining to Super Junior and Ragnarok Online. I'm sorry if some of them might be out of characters, because although I listen to their songs, I definitely do not follow DBSK's activities as closely as I do with SJ (or rather, I only follow SJ's activities for that matter...)
And oh, this was actually a request from one of my readers on FFnet, and she was the one who requested for this plotline. So please don't kill me for killing off one of them (God knows I don't like writing scenes like that either, given that a person's still alive and well.)

Always There
Micky groggily stumbled into the elevator, and pressed the button leading to the floor where Dong Bang Shin Ki's dorm was located at. When he woke up that morning, he found himself in the hospital, with absolutely no recollection on how he had ended up there. And when he tried to remember, he was rewarded with a splitting headache that lasted until now. To make matters worse, his phone and wallet were also missing, so he had no way of contacting his group members, and had to walk all the way back to the dorm.
The moment the doors of the elevator slid open, Micky was temporarily taken aback at the scene, because bouquets upon bouquets of flowers were lined up against the wall outside his dorm. He hesitated for a short moment, wondering when the fans were allowed to come upstairs again after so long. It's been years since they've received this much flowers and gifts from their fans, and while he thought it weird, Micky shrugged it off.
When he reached the door, he fumbled around his pockets for his keys, but realized that it had gone missing along with his phone and wallet as well. He groaned in frustration - the boys would definitely be laughing their heads off for his clumsiness this time - and poised his finger over the doorbell, only to jump out of the way when the gates suddenly flung open. To his surprise, the Super Junior members walked out from the dorm, lead by Leeteuk, though their expressions were unreadable.
Micky greeted them cheerfully - as much as he could over this lousy headache - and waved enthusiastically. However, he was either standing right in their blind spot, or they've suddenly decided that they didn't know him anymore, because all fifteen of them merely walked past him without even saying hi, and were deeply engrossed in their low conversations.
He shook his head disbelievingly, but decided to ignore them and was barely able to slip through the door that was slowly coming to a close. Micky looked around the condition of the Dong Bang Shin Ki dorm, shaking his head in annoyance at the chaotic scene. Have these people no sense to tidy up the house?
That was when he spotted Jaejoong in the living room, with his head buried under his arms. He called out to him, but was yet again ignored. By this time, Micky was already rather miffed by the lack of attention they're giving to him, and was prepared to storm towards his room to slam the door just to see whether anyone would come in and talk to him, only to have his path crossed by their leader Yunho. But again, it was as though Micky was invisible to them, because Yunho merely walked past him and headed over to Jaejoong to hand him a mug of coffee, of which the latter received it gratefully.
Unable to hold in his vexation any longer, Micky proceeded with his previous plan and stomped all the way to his bedroom, only to find Junsu seated on the floor, and Changmin was there as well, helping him putting some clothes inside a box. Wait, isn't that my jacket? Micky wanted to ask, but it seems that they were discussing something, so he decided to eavesdrop on them from outside.
"Hyung, what will happen to our group…?" Changmin asked, and Micky could identify the weariness from his voice.
"Nothing will change. We'll still be Dong Bang Shin Ki without him," Junsu said.
"But-" the maknae started again, only to be cut off by Junsu once again.
"I said, nothing will change. Yunho will take over the rapping full time, and we'll still do our parts properly. We don't need Micky…" Junsu answered, his voice steely, but was slightly quivering as well.
At this point, Micky was utterly confused, as questions upon questions started bombarding his mind. What happened to the group? What's Junsu talking about? Did he just get kicked out of the group without him knowing?
However, that was the last straw for Micky, because he couldn't hold in his anger any longer, and immediately went into the room in order to give Junsu a piece of his mind. But when he stopped in front of Junsu, he noticed that his friend had tears in his eyes, as he continued packing Micky's things into a box. This made Micky even more baffled than he already was, and he started to say something, only to stop himself because Junsu opened his mouth once again.
"... God, Changmin, I miss him. Why does that idiot have to leave us behind without even saying goodbye?" he asked, and broke down in Changmin's arms.
"What are you talking about, idiot Junsu? I'm right here!" Micky yelled, but none of them looked at him.
"Hyung, there's nothing we can do about it. It was an accident - no one intended for it to happen..." the maknae attempted to comfort his hyung. When Micky heard what Changmin had to say, his blood froze.
Accident? What accident?
That was when his memories slowly returned to him. He could vaguely remember trying to cross the road late last night... and suddenly a flash of light appeared. When he finally realised what was going on, he was already lying on the road, and feel that his breathing was slowly coming to a stop.
I'm... dead?
Micky tried to pat Junsu on his shoulder, but his hand went right through his body. Not quite believing what he was seeing, he tried once again, just to yield the same result. Everything that happened since this morning started to make sense to him. The flowers were sent here by other artists to deliver their condolences. The reason why everyone was ignoring him, was because no one could see him at all. Now that he realised, there weren't any fans chasing after him for a signature as well while he was walking on the streets without any cover-ups.
Micky slumped to his knees at the realisation. He was no longer an entity in this world, and won't be able to stand on the stage that he loves so much with his group members, nor would he be able to tell everyone how he really felt about them. However, he was still adamant to at least leave a message for his members, and looked around the room for something appropriate.
A pen caught his eye, and he immediately started for it, hoping that he could at least pick it up. Micky thanked the gods above when his wish came true, and started scribbling furiously on a paper. He then picked the paper up and dropped it in front of Junsu and Changmin, hoping that they would at least notice it - otherwise his efforts would go to waste.
Fortunately, Changmin saw the paper floating towards the ground, though he did seem a little confused as to how it managed to fall in the first place, considering the fact that the windows of the room were shut tight. But when he started reading what was being scribbled on the paper, his eyes went wide, and started calling for Yunho and Jaejoong. When all the members were gathered in Micky's room, Changmin read the letter out loud.
"Jaejoong hyung, Yunho hyung, Junsu, Changmin... I know you're probably wondering how I managed to write this letter to you. Honestly, I'm rather surprised myself. Anyway, I just want you to know that I'm really sorry for leaving all of you without even saying goodbye - will this letter suffice? But don't worry, I'll always be there for you guys, watching over all of you silently. And I want you to know that I've never regretted knowing all of you. Don't forget me, alright? Otherwise I'll come back and haunt you in your sleep~ ㅋㅋㅋ… Yoochun."
By the end of the letter, the boys didn't know whether to cry or laugh. However, Micky was rather taken aback by the fact that they were looking directly in his direction, and they waved back when he experimentally gave them a slight wave. Micky gave them another smile right when he was about to fade from view, and felt the warmth spreading in his heart when he heard what they said right before his world went completely black.
We'll never forget you, Yoochun.
