Over this past weekend, I have managed to archive my whole LiveJournal in PDF form to store on my computer. This was not just some inane task that I had given myself - there IS a purpose! What, you may ask, is that purpose? Well, let me tell you:
I have been staring at a beautiful new blog page on Blogger with my name on it (quite literally, as you’ll see). It is calling to me, pulling me to write on a regular basis. Tempting me to… dare I say it? I must! Blog!!
“Are you crazy?”, you say! “You’ve hardly been able to keep up with this journal, once a year, let alone a regular blog!!” …And you’d be right. I have been a little lax (and by a little, I mean… well, a lot) at keeping steady updates. I recently discussed this with my husband, noting that since I met him, I’ve been a much less regular writer here, and he noted in return that I used to write a lot about my seemingly eternal emotional strife. It’s true, too. In the process of archiving, I had the opportunity to look at many of my past entries, and indeed, the man is right. I was very much expressing (in most of my entries) some high-strung feelings about relationships (or non-relationships) that I was in at the time. Since I’ve met Eric, my life has turned to a more even keel, and I have much less of that emotional upheaval going on. And that is a good thing.
Now that I have managed to get through the first few difficult years of our marriage and all that came with those times, and now that we’ve begun settling in to our new home, I feel it is time to begin something new. A way to record our life, and so much more. I want to write about my experiences in motherhood and wifehood. I want to write about my beliefs, and dig a little deeper into my craft. In the next few years I will be embarking on the adventure of homeschooling our boys, and I’ll want to write and record about that. So, I think it’s time to dust off that new blog space and begin.
Instead of completely abandoning my LiveJournal, however, I may yet opt to make this a place for more personal updates, which I don’t feel the general public will be interested in or should need to read. So, after this entry, I’ll be locking all of my entries in this place to only my friends on LiveJournal. So, if you don’t have an LJ account, and wish to continue reading this particular blog, you’ll need to get a LiveJournal account yourself (don’t worry - there is a free basic option!) and add me as a friend. Otherwise, please feel free to enjoy my new blog at Blogger.
So, without further ado, welcome to my new blog:
