awesome.

my kid was talking politics with my friend's mom last night.

his class held an election yesterday. i'm a little perturbed that they were only given two choices to vote for, republican or democrat, but it's nice to see him interested. i think at least one of the other parties should have been represented. they've been talking about the candidates this fall, and their teacher summarized each candidate's platform. he didn't remember who won the class election (i would bet obama, considering the school). he said he voted for obama because he thought he had the best ideas.

then his teacher (i think) helped him write his address for reasons i'm less sure of....and she gave him the wrong address. so he argued with *me* about it. i kept trying to tell him that the person who told him the number was wrong, and he kept saying, "but jodie said it was this way" and so on. in my world, the parent living in the house with you for six years would be presumed to be correct about the house number over the teacher who met you two months ago....but what do i know? so it seems i must stop in at her classroom today in addition to running errands, cleaning the house, stopping by the police station, and getting ready to go to my cousin's wedding in st. louis this weekend. yee-hah.
