Boone has been one of my favorites since the pilot tbh. And for me, I always found it heartbreaking that he ended up alone. He was so broken and sad and incomplete and the saddest part of his death is that he died before he could work out any of his potential.
Fast forward to season 3. And here's Alex. Who is brilliant and brave and strong and alive and spoiled. And she dates... Karl. Karl who's so boring and flat and whiny and omg, what do you even see in that, Alex?
He's all alone and sad and bless him, has all the right intentions. He's so full of love and has so much to give but no one to give it to. And she's this wild, passionate and curious young woman. She is so restless and she too, bless her, has all these good intentions, and she - like him - feels so under appreciated. They both have this great potential that they both never get to fill.
And each other is like, the answer to that potential.
