Well that was easy enough...
With our first band concert looming next Wednesday, and me not exactly knowing when I'll be cleared to go back to work (though I was bound and determined to go back on Monday to get ready for the concert), my assistant principal made the executive decision to postpone the concert indefinitely. I had already been considering it, but I'm glad she made the call-- I doubt I would have actually postponed it; instead I'd just try to "cowboy up" and make this concert work, even if it meant me making my foot worse in the process (along with a lot of unneeded exhaustion and stress).
A pleasant by-product of this is that my kids will get more time to get ready for a concert that NONE of them were ready for.
Even still, I hate cancelling this late.
